Description
Agent Provocateur is a craft "hybrid" beer featuring characteristics specific to beers brewed in Belgium and England.
It is brewed within the walls of the Belgian brewery De Proef in partnership with Craig Allan, a Scottish brewer, expatriate in France and creator of the recipe.
He says “It has a very hoppy taste, that’s what I like: I like beers of character. In France, there are only a few. I use a special strain of hop and put it in a greater quantity than in most of the other beers”.
Agent Provovateur is a lightly amber lager that features a creamy white head. It develops low effervescence in the glass and releases fruity aromas of citrus fruit and herbs that one can immediately associate with aromatic hops. Light notes of malt are also noticeable in the nose.
In the mouth, one will immediately experience strong bitterness. It is a dry beer in the mouth featuring fruity and floral notes of hops reminiscent of pineapple, exotic fruit, citrus fruit, grapefruit and lime. This fine bitterness is short-lasting but is truly astringent as the aftertaste emerges. This beer is an excellent aperitif when drunk chilled but can also marry spicy meals and creamy cheeses.
